A Fixed World Cup???

What an unlucky world cup, this has been. There are only two types of people who are watching the world cup these days. Half of the spectators think that most of the matches are fixed and they are not ready to believe that upsets are a part of the game. They believe that the upsets are already fixed and it is a tactic to attract the people, above all, to increase the rate of game.
Others have nothing to do with such controversies; they want nothing but the nail biting finish even on the cost of an early exit of the favorites of the tournament. Pakistan-Canada match pleased everyone (the innocent spectators and the gamblers) but it had nothing for those who believe that matches are being fixed and influenced by the unseen powers as Canada is not in a position to fix match and Pakistan is the only test playing team which cannot afford any such ailments as they are recently suffered from this controversy (The trio case is still open through and it is yet to be proved that the punishment was justified or not). But still, Pakistani team is very careful and not in a mood to indulge itself in any controversy. In the presence of hundreds and thousands of watch dogs, they are playing clean. One of the other reasons is, the match is played in Sri Lanka, not in India. Both the most famous games of the tournament are played in India (India-England & England-Ireland matches) and chances of match fixing in India are certainly more than that of Sri Lanka however I believe that the match between England and Ireland was one of the best matches of the tournament as it witnessed top class performance of Kevin O’Brien. Kevin certainly had a very good day against an average bowling attack, which lacks match winners (except Swann) and did not restrict teams even below 290. Moreover, the old rivalry between England and Ireland cannot be ruled out either.
Same goes for the match between Pakistan and Canada. It surely was a below average performance by Pakistan when they batted. Pakistan’s performance within the ground should be questioned however sympathies for those who claim that it was fixed as none of the playing sides were in a position to go for that. They do not have favorable conditions even.
Pakistan showed how outstanding players they have. With a long list of strikers like Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Umer Gul and Wahab Riaz (who can surprise any opponent), Pakistan emerged as a real threat for all the nations and proved that they play positive game.
Fourteen wickets in three matches shows how positive and attacking captain, Pakistan has, someone who leads from the front. Skipper has proved that he and Pakistan are unstoppable. Pakistan is famous for its fighters. In the presence of these four genuine bowlers (and Shoaib Akhtar) the world will have to come with a better strategy. Pakistan is not an easy opponent; it has never been until the unseen forces drag them to that. Waqar has also been a fighter who was expensive at times but has always been beneficial for the team. He taught the same to the team.
I feel sorry for those who claim that all the matches are fixed. Pakistan is playing clean game and has emerged as a real threat for all the opponents, especially for those who are playing chess instead of playing cricket. I would strongly recommend Pakistani team to be more careful in coming days as they will be playing final at a land which is notorious for bookies and lots of outstanding players ended up their career because they were dragged match/spot fixing in India.
Pakistan need to come up with its natural game and that is fight till the last breath.
